NAHT comments on funding for schools maintenance and repairs

Commenting as the government today announce a rise in funding for
schools maintenance and repairs, Paul Whiteman, general secretary
of school leaders’ union NAHT said: “Before the pandemic there was
an urgent need to repair the school estate – the National Audit
Office put the amount needed at around £7bn. School funding has
been declining in real terms since 2010, meaning many schools have
had to put off or cut back on maintenance work. The need is even
