ASCL comment on avoiding use of schools for May polls

Commenting on the government letter about avoiding the use of
school buildings for polls on 6 May, Geoff Barton, General
Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, said:
“We are very pleased that efforts are being made to avoid using
schools for the May polls in order to minimise further disruption
to education. “We would like to see this become a permanent state
of affairs with schools only ever used for polls as a last resort
