musicians is extraordinarily clear. Her Majesty’s Government have
said that during the negotiations we made proposals that would have
allowed musicians to travel and perform in the UK and the EU more
easily without needing work permits. These were based on the input
of the music bodies such as UK Music and the Musicians’
Union, but the EU rejected those proposals. Therefore,
musicians are in the position they are in because the EU rejected
those proposals.
