Government response to Delivering Core NHS and Care Services during the Pandemic and Beyond

The Health and Social Care Committee has today published the Government response to its report ‘Delivering Core NHS and Care Services during the Pandemic and Beyond’. The report, published in October, called for urgent action to assess and tackle a backlog of appointments and an unknown patient demand for all health services, specifically across cancer treatments, mental health services, dentistry services, GP services and elective surgery. The report also made recommendations on communication issues with patients, testing of NHS and care staff and what support the NHS and care sectors require from Government to meet the demand for services.
