Personal Independence
Payment (PIP) is replacing
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for eligible
working age people aged 16 to 64.

quarterly official statistics cover:

- registrations, clearances and awards
- award rates
- mandatory reconsiderations
- average clearance times and average outstanding times
- mandatory reconsideration clearance times

quarterly experimental statistics cover:
- breakdown of awards by award type and review periods
- award review and change of circumstance registrations
and clearances
- customer journey statistics (tracking of initial
decisions following a PIPassessment
through to MR and appeal)
The latest annual statistics on the outcomes of
DLA to
PIP
reassessments can be found in Stat-Xplore.
Statistics are broken down by:
- new claims and DLA reassessment
claims
- normal rules and special rules for terminally ill
people
- age and gender (including State Pension Age marker)
- geographical region, local authority area and
parliamentary constituency
Additional breakdowns for some series include:
- mobility and daily living award level
- main disability category/sub-group/detailed disability
condition
- International Classification of Diseases
(ICD)
disease code (summary group)
- claim duration
- clearance type
- award type and review periods
- average amounts of money received as a PIP award
The latest release of PIP statistics
(published on 15 December 2020) includes, for the first
time, annual statistics on “Rising 16” outcomes for child
DLA
claimants reaching age 16 and applying to PIP.
