Oxfam report warns number of people living in poverty set to increase - Preet Gill responds

Preet Kaur Gill MP, Labour’s Shadow International Development Secretary, commenting on an Oxfam report warning that the number of people living in poverty is set to increase sharply for the first time in decades unless action is taken, said:

““The coronavirus pandemic has destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions of people in the UK and around the world.

“The government's decision to turn its back on the world's poorest and most vulnerable represents a retreat of Britain as a force for good in the world and must be reversed.”
