Letter to Ofgem on RIIO-ED2 related energy policies

Ofgem, as the independent regulator, is responsible for the network price control. The price control sets the framework by which energy networks are funded and incentivised to improve the networks which deliver energy to consumers. Government policies and priorities, such as those relating to our progress towards net zero, are a potentially relevant factor in Ofgem’s thinking.

This letter from Kwasi Kwarteng, Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, outlines the government’s views on these priorities, to share with Ofgem as they make their independent decision on the price control.
