the women who are being subject to this horrific abuse? Research by
the APPG shows that it is predominantly vulnerable, non-UK-national
women who are being abused in brothels across Britain, and a
significant proportion of them come from one particular country:
Romania. Over a period of two years, Leicestershire police visited
156 brothels, encountering 421 women, of whom 86% were from
