How is public transport changing as a result of the pandemic? The
Transport Committee starts work on its inquiry examining the
implications of Covid-19 for public transport across England in
the first session of the Committee’s inquiry on Reforming
public transport after the pandemic.
MPs will explore how Government and policymakers should respond
to challenges raised by the pandemic and in particular, how the
Government’s current or forthcoming strategies on public
transport should be adapted to reflect the implications of the
pandemic.
Witnesses on the first panel will offer an overview of some of
the key changes to public transport since March. The second panel
is focused on how the pandemic has affected public transport in
different parts of the country, particularly urban and rural
areas.
