Labour Party National Executive Committee
Election results for the Labour Party's National Executive
Committee (NEC) and Young Labour were announced on November 13.
According to LabourList, "Keir Starmer has increased the strength
of support for his leadership...with a more solid majority on the
NEC."
However, according to Momentum, the "Labour left has scored a
significant victory" as the united left Grassroots Voice slate
saw five of its candidates - Mish Rahman, Gemma Bolton, , Nadia Jama
and Yasmine Dar - elected to the NEC, making the slate the
largest single grouping in the member section. Running with the
support of Momentum, they stood for a "transformative socialist
policy platform and in opposition to Keir Starmer’s
'anti-democratic crackdown' on the left within the party." The
elected candidates are: Mish Rahman; Gemma Bolton; ; Nadia Jama;
and Yasmine Dar.
