The House of Commons Library has published a briefing on the United
Kingdom Internal Market Bill 2019-21. The second reading of the
bill will take place on Monday 14 September. With the end of the
transition period, the UK will leave the EU single market. The EU
legal underpinnings for free trade in goods and services between
the UK's four nations will fall away. To prevent new barriers to
intra-UK trade, the Government has proposed a new legal framework
