Lord Caine (Con):...Between June 2019 and May 2020, 96 arrests were
made under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. In the same
period, 26 firearms, 0.88 kilograms of explosives and 800 rounds of
ammunition were found by the police —so the need for the utmost
vigilance remains as these groups have clearly not, to borrow a
phrase, “gone away”. Combating them and protecting the people of
Northern Ireland from terrorism must remain a top priority for any
