NEU comment on Free School Meals

"The Government is seriously out of touch if it can't see that many families will need support with food during the summer holiday. The IPPR predicted that an additional 200,000 children will be living in poverty by Christmas. This is shocking and should alarm Boris Johnson. Schools are working flat out to support families on low incomes and trapped in poverty, but the solution to food poverty cannot be patched together school by school. It needs national leadership and real resolve."
