The RPC’s Interim Chair Stephen Gibson was invited by FOIR, the
Forum of Indian Regulators, to give a webinar presentation and
answer questions on Better Regulation and the role of the
Regulatory Policy Committee. This was our first engagement with an
entity from India and is one in a series FOIR is running along with
the Indian School of Competition Law and Regulation in which

presentation and answer questions on Better Regulation and the role
of the Regulatory Policy Committee.
This was our first engagement with an entity from India and
is one in a series FOIR is running along with the Indian
School of Competition Law and Regulation in which experts
discuss regulatory issues. Key concepts such as
proportionality in evidence and analysis in Impact
Assessments were discussed, as too was the importance of a
credible and understood regulatory framework that all
stakeholders can have confidence in.
We plan to engage further with India and FOIR by discussing
how we can share best practice in the near future.
