Treasury Committee evidence session on the economic impact of coronavirus with experts

The Treasury Committee will hold another evidence session as part of its inquiry into the economic impact of coronavirus. 

The Committee will take evidence from representatives of the Resolution Foundation, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Institute for Government. 

The Committee will seek views on the effectiveness of the Government’s Job Retention Scheme, Self-Employed Incomes Support Scheme, and various loan schemes to support businesses.

Members are also expected to ask about how the Government can boost employment, the effectiveness of the Government’s lockdown exit strategy, and how tax and spend decisions by the Government may change in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
