Williamson welcomes wider opening of schools

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said:

“Schools and nurseries across the country welcomed pupils back yesterday, reuniting children with their friends and teachers, and I know many more will do the same over the coming days.

“I also know that huge amounts of planning and preparation has taken place to make this possible, and I cannot thank our teachers and staff enough for everything that they are doing.

“I recognise there may continue to be some nervousness among families, but I want to reassure parents – and those working in schools and nurseries – that the welfare of children and staff continues to be at the heart of all of our considerations.”
