The Education Committee will question Children and
Families Minister Vicky Ford on the impact of COVID-19 on
education and children’s services on Wednesday
22nd April at 9.30am.
This session will be held virtually and will be
available to watch at parliamentlive.tv
Children and Families Minister will be
questioned by the Education Committee as
part of the
ongoing inquiry into the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on
education and children’s services.
The Minister is likely to face questions on how vulnerable
children are being supported during the school closures and what
is being done to minimise the impact on young people from
disadvantaged groups, including students in alternative provision
and those with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Committee may also ask about early years provision and
support for children in care and care leavers.
The Committee’s inquiry is examining both the short term and
longer-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and scrutinising how
the Department for Education is dealing with the situation.
