Joint Committee on Human Rights seeking evidence on upcoming Government bills

The Joint Committee on Human Rights are calling on interested groups and individuals to submit evidence on the human rights implications of forthcoming legislation.

The Committee has identified upcoming Government bills which may have significant human rights implications and want evidence on how likely these are to raise issues and whether or not they could do more to protect human rights.

These bills include, but are not limited to:

• Immigration and Social Security Coordination (EU Withdrawal) Bill
• Counter Terrorism (Sentencing and Release) Bill
• Sentencing Bill
• Serious Violence Bill
• Espionage legislation
• Foreign national offenders legislation
• Mental Health Act reform.

The Committee also welcome short submissions from the public which may flag up human rights issues within other bills.
