review of the decision in the light of the climate and wildlife
impacts of the plan. That came after the High Court ruled that the
Government’s decision to go ahead with the proposed Heathrow third
runway had failed to take into account commitments they had made
under the Paris Agreement on climate change. The Government have
said they will not appeal that decision. Legal commentators have
said that other challenges may well be launched to HS2, and this
comes as North Somerset Council made the historic decision, after a
great deal of work by campaigners, not to allow the expansion of
Bristol Airport on the basis of the climate emergency...
