Mike Amesbury responds to latest employment figures from the ONS

Mike Amesbury MP, Labour’s Shadow Employment Minister, responding to the latest employment figures from the ONS, said:

“Today’s employment figures hide the reality that real wages are still lower than before the financial crash over 10 years ago.

“The Government has promised time and time again that workers' pay would increase, but a decade on, many families are still struggling to get by without taking on debt.

“Workers need the Government to take urgent action to tackle in-work poverty and rising household debt by making sure work pays properly.”
