Which? comments as government introduces Agriculture Bill

Sue Davies, Head of Consumer Protection and Food Policy at Which?, said: 

“Prioritising sustainable food production, animal welfare and the environment is a positive step - but it is vital that the government gives equal weight to issues that are important to consumers, such as improved food safety and health. 

“Our research shows consumers value the UK’s high food standards, so the government should legislate to ensure current standards are maintained and enhanced in future trade deals - not undermined by imports produced to a lower standard.”
