Rayner comments on Sutton Trust research showing Tory GCSE reforms have led to widening attainment gap

Commenting on the Sutton Trust’s research which found the Conservatives’ GCSEs reforms have led to a widening of the attainment gap, Angela Rayner, Shadow Secretary of State for Education, said:

“This report is further evidence that you can’t trust the Tories to drive up standards in our schools, especially for the most disadvantaged children.

“Labour will provide record levels of investment in our schools and increase education opportunities for every child, regardless of their background.”
