Deaths on roads up - Karl Turner responds

Karl Turner MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Minister for Road Safety, responding to new figures showing that the number of people killed or seriously injured on the roads has increased, said:

“These shocking figures highlight the Tories’ failings on road safety.

“Deaths on the road are being treated as inevitable – but we wouldn’t accept this in any other area of public safety.   

“We need a new approach to road safety. The next Labour government will commit to a target of zero road deaths and serious injuries on our roads.”
