No deal would be disastrous for jobs and our economy - Starmer

Keir Starmer MP, Labour’s shadow Brexit secretary, responding to Stephen Barclay’s admission that a no deal Brexit could lead to recession, said:

“This dismissive attitude towards no deal shows a complete lack of regard or respect for the thousands of people who stand to lose their jobs, lose access to medicine, or face anxiety and hardship as a direct result.

“No deal would be disastrous for jobs and our economy, but the Tories are more interested in keeping their party together than putting the interests of the country first.

“This is the height of irresponsibility. Labour will work with all sides to block no deal and put our country’s interests first.”
