Baroness Janke (LD):...A host of reports provide evidence of a
situation that is getting steadily worse, including those by the UN
rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights and by the Joseph
Rowntree Foundation. The Children’s Commissioner has published a
report on the impact of recent benefit changes on children.
The National Education Union reported in May that
teachers are buying food, clothing and equipment out of their own
