"Education is a right, not a privilege" - Angela Rayner responds to EPI report

Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to the EPI’s report on post-18 education funding, said:

“Education is a right, not a privilege. Ensuring all individuals – regardless of their background – can access higher education is not regressive, it is a fundamental principle of a just and equitable society. 

“Through the abolition of tuition fees in further and higher education and the reintroduction of maintenance grants and EMA, Labour will create a National Education Service that works for the many, not the few.”
