Downing Street read-out of Prime Minister's meeting with Jeremy Corbyn

A Downing Street spokesman said:

“Today’s talks were constructive, with both sides showing flexibility and a commitment to bring the current Brexit uncertainty to a close. We have agreed a programme of work to ensure we deliver for the British people, protecting jobs and security.”

Prime Minister, Steve Barclay, Chief Whip, Gavin Barwell and officials
Jeremy Corbyn, Keir Starmer, Seumas Milne, Nick Brown and Rebecca Long-Bailey

We agreed we would each appoint a negotiating team. For the Government, that will be David Lidington, Steve Barclay, Chief Whip and Gavin Barwell (with official support).

The negotiating teams will meet again later this evening to plan a programme of work, and then will meet again tomorrow for a full day of intensive discussions, recognising the need for urgency.
