MP, Shadow
Chancellor, responding to analysis by the ONS
showing the manufacturing sector is still smaller than it was
before 2008, said:
“These figures show that the Tories have utterly failed over nine
long years to provide a vision, or meaningful support, for our
manufacturing sector.
“And now their Brexit bungling is leading to manufacturers
cutting jobs and leaving the UK.
“A Labour Government will establish a National Investment Bank, a
National Transformation Fund, and an ambitious industrial
strategy to rebuild our economy.”
