Jon Trickett comments on revelations that Theresa May met with Sir Jim Ratcliffe last week

Jon Trickett MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office, commenting on Theresa May meeting with Ineos founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe last week before it was revealed he is planning on relocating to Monaco to save £4billion in tax, said:

“It's a sorry state of affairs that while millions of people across the country are repeatedly ignored by the Government, the rich and powerful have all access passes to Whitehall.

“This disparity of influence has skewed our political system so that working people repeatedly find themselves on the wrong end of decisions over which they’ve had no say.

“Labour is committed to transforming our democracy so that it works in the interests of the many, and not the few.”
