MPs to question Lord Ahmad on future of UK Overseas Territories

Tuesday 18 December: Committee Room 16, Palace of Westminster from 3.30pm

In the final oral evidence session of the inquiry into The future of the UK Overseas Territories, the Foreign Affairs Committee will hear from the Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon.

The inquiry has ranged across human rights and equality, OT representation in Parliament, the OTs’ relationships with the Foreign Office and reactions to legislation recently passed by Parliament requiring the OTs to publish registers of beneficial ownership by 2021.

The Committee may ask Lord Ahmad about these and other issues that have caused tension in UK-OT relations recently.
