Over the next two weeks, the Business, Energy and
Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee will be
holding a series of Brexit evidence hearings on the automotive,
aerospace, pharmaceutical and processed food & drink sectors,
questioning businesses and representative organisations.
The Business Committee will be exploring business responses to
the withdrawal agreement, the political declaration on future
relationship, and the impact of ‘no deal’ on their respective
industrial sectors.
MP, Chair of the Business,
Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee said:
“Businesses have been seeking clarity for many months. Now
the Prime Minister has concluded negotiations on the Withdrawal
Agreement and the draft political declaration, it’s important
that we examine the likely impact on businesses and on
investment, supply-chains, on skills and on labour. Following the
Committee’s earlier Brexit work, and to inform the upcoming
debate and vote in the House of Commons, we want to hear from
businesses and their views of the agreement, what they need from
future arrangements, and the potential impact of ‘no deal’ for
their industrial sectors.”
