Violence against police unacceptable in any civilised society - Diane Abbott

Diane Abbott MP, Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary, responding to the Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation’s comments regarding officers requiring assistance when faced with violent suspects, said:

“This is unacceptable in any civilised society, and thuggery like this cannot be tolerated. The police need the resources to tackle crime safely, and more police are needed to restore community policing and restore police-public cooperation.”
