Home Affairs Committee to take evidence from Minister for Policing

The Home Affairs Committee will take evidence from the Policing Minister, Rt Hon Nick Hurd MP, and senior Home Office officials, focussing on the preparations that the Home Office are taking to ensure that UK policing and security capabilities are maintained in the event of the UK exiting the EU without a deal in March 2019.

The session is likely to cover:

• ·         The Government’s progress in negotiations towards an ‘ambitious partnership’ with the EU on security and policing cooperation
• ·         Current and future working arrangements with Europol and other European agencies
• ·         Data sharing and access to EU databases and information systems such as SIS II
• ·         Future extradition arrangements
• ·         Resources and funding to maintain and replicate EU security tools in the event of a no-deal
