Committee to take evidence on the provision of support to victims of modern slavery

In the next evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into Modern Slavery, the Committee will hear from organisations which provide help and support to victims of slavery and trafficking.

The session is likely to cover:

• ·         The difficulties experienced by victims in accessing support;
• ·         The challenges posed by increasing numbers of victims in the UK;
  • ·         The criminalisation of victims, including children involved in county lines exploitation.

• The impacts of the Government’s recent reforms to support provision;

The Committee has appointed Anthony Steen CBE, Chair of the Human Trafficking Foundation, as a Specialist Adviser to the Committee’s inquiry.
