Prison Population 2022: planning for the future

The Justice Committee is holding its fourth evidence session as part of its inquiry into Prison Population 2022: planning for the future on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at 10.00am in Committee Room 6, Palace of Westminster.

The purpose of this session is to examine the current and future pressures on the prison system and the implications for strategic and operational policy, including:

• how prisons respond to and seek to rehabilitate the current prison population, including those eligible for parole and particular cohorts of prisoner
• the impact of accommodating a more complex and challenging population
• the latest research on offender supervision and the implications for future practice
• issues relating to the recruitment and training of prison officers, forensic psychologists and prison leaders.
