Gove’s decision to kill up to 42,000 badgers betrays the government’s deep hypocrisy on animal welfare - Hayman

Sue Hayman MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Secretary, responding to Michael Gove’s comments on the Andrew Marr Show, said:

“Michael Gove’s decision to kill up to 42,000 badgers, including in low-risk areas, regardless of whether the badgers are carrying TB or not, is unjustifiable and betrays the Government’s deep hypocrisy on animal welfare.

“The Government must immediately cease this mass destruction of wildlife and focus attention and tax payer money on improving testing, vaccinations and on controlling the movement of infected cattle.”
