How is the Met coping with the terrorist threat?

The Met Commissioner has claimed that terror related investigations are putting a strain on the force. How confident is she of the force’s ability to tackle terrorism?

The Police and Crime Committee will question the head of the Metropolitan Police and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) about the terrorism threat and measures put in place to protect the public tomorrow at a meeting at City Hall at 10am.

Questions will also include tackling violent crime, policing at Notting Hill Carnival, the investigation into professional standards, and the impact of Brexit. The guests are:

• Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, MOPAC

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 5 September from 10:00am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
