During a statement from the Prime Minister on last week's NATO
meeting, former Conservative Party leader raised the subject of Nord
Stream 2.
He asked the PM what discussions had taken place with the Germans
over the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, claiming that it "will have a
strategic effect to diminish the likelihood of Ukraine and others
being able to support themselves in the future if they continue to
insist on going ahead unilaterally with the pipeline".
Replying, the PM stated that this was an important issue, and "had
been discussed on a number of ocassions around the EU Council
table, and will continue to be discussed".
She said that she "recognised the concerns that have been raised in
relation to Nord Stream 2, and particulary the impact it would have
on Ukraine".
She went on to say that discussions will continue not just with
Germany, but with other European allies and it is a very important
issue that needs to be addressed.
