Committee Chair to request Secretary of State withdraws “totally inaccurate” statements on UC

Commenting on today’s extraordinary intervention in the ongoing debate on the NAO’s findings on Universal Credit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (open letter from the NAO to DWP Secretary of State attached for convenience), Rt Hon Frank field MP, Chair of the Committee, said: “This is so serious that I will ask the Speaker for an Urgent Question tomorrow, for the Secretary of State to return to the House and withdraw what the NAO believes to be totally inaccurate - as DWP officials well know.”
