Ruth Cadbury (Brentford and Isleworth) (Lab): Does the
Minister agree that the £43 million and the officer time spent
because 156 local authorities have to deal with claims from
motorists and other road users as a result of pothole damage and
injury is a waste of money? The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of
State for Transport (Jesse Norman): I certainly think that is true.
I do not know whether it is a waste of money; it is perfectly
