Responding to reports the National Police Chiefs' Council is
considering routinely deploying armed officers in remote and rural
communities, Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson Ed Davey
said: "Police Officers carry out dangerous and often lifesaving
work on our behalf, not least in the face of ongoing threats
