New measures to tackle rogue landlords to come into force

Housing and Planning Minister Alok Sharma will tomorrow put rogue landlords on notice as new measures come into force in the New Year as part of a renewed effort to crack down on bad practice.

These include the extension of national mandatory licencing to include approximately 160,000 additional rental properties, new minimum room sizes for bedrooms and tough banning orders that will force out the worst offenders from the private rental sector.
