Rolls-Royce mentioned in Justice Committee hearing

The Justice Select Committee is this morning taking evidence on the work of the Serious Fraud Office from its Director, David Green CB QC.

In response to a question by Alex Chalk MP about robot and e-discovery platform, Mr Green said: 

"During the Rolls-Royce investigation, they showed extraordinary cooperation, showing us 30 million documents, mainly digital, including material which contained legal professional privilege, which we were not entitled to have and had to quarantine. They agreed we could search and sift through the material. They also agreed we could use artificial intelligence to do that. As a result, it took a tenth of the time compared to using humans, and it was more accurate."
