Government must giving working people a say in its new industrial strategy, says TUC

• Unions must be represented on new Industrial Strategy Council, says TUC
• UK should follow example of Germany

Commenting on today’s (Monday) white paper on industrial strategy, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Ministers have failed to explain how workers will be given a say in the new industrial strategy. They are missing a trick if they don’t listen to the factory floor

“A key reason behind the success of Germany’s industrial strategy is that government, business and unions all sit down together. And plan decades ahead.

“The UK should be following this blueprint. Unions must be represented on the new Industrial Strategy Council.”
