challenges that are being faced nationally, so to meet those
challenges as proactively as possible, we are modernising the
employment offer for our armed forces to better allow defence to

mentioned earlier, those are being managed collectively under our
armed forces people programme, which comprises projects including
the new joiner offer and the enterprise approach. The latter is
about taking people with civilian skills—for example, working
for Rolls-Royce or Babcock—and bringing them
straight across to work in the defence environment...
