E.ON's young wind turbine service business has passed its test.
More than a year ago, E.ON Wind Service was awarded a 10-year
operating and maintenance contract in Småland, Sweden, where the
customer EWII Production A/S owns two wind farms with Vestas V90
turbines. Result after the first year: E.ON's operation and
service approach increased the availability of the wind farm.
The EWII contract was the first long-term operating and
maintenance contract for E.ON Wind Service in Europe “Our
successful entry into the European market has a lot to do with
the cooperation of EWII. We used the opportunity to not only
offer an independent tailor-made services, but also to be a good
example of a successful business relationship with our customer,”
says Katja Bartsch-Wünschel, Director Onshore Europe at E.ON.
“We are united by the goal of combining economic success and
climate protection. The partnership also has the advantage that
E.ON is very familiar with the energy market in Sweden. Our wind
farms are managed with a commitment to everyone as if they were
E.ON's property,” emphasizes Dan Hjeronymus Klitgaard of EWII.
E.ON provides services for onshore and offshore wind turbines in
the German, Italian, UK, Swedish and US markets. The range of
services includes maintenance and repair as well as the operation
of wind farms. E.ON operates independently of the turbine
manufacturers in this business area and can thus implement the
best solution for the customer.
