Met Commissioner questioned on rising crime and falling funds

• Crime is increasing in London. The number of total notable offences rose by almost 20 percent between 2014-15 and the start of 2017-18^[1].
• The Met needs to save an extra £185 million, even after back-office savings have been made^[2]. The police pay rise adds an extra £11 million^[3] and terror incidents in the last year have created additional costs. The London Bridge incident alone cost £10 million.

The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will tomorrow question the Met Commissioner, Cressida Dick CBE QPM, and other guests on: performance; funding; moped enabled crime, hate crime, modern slavery and the Government’s Race Disparity Audit.
