The Government’s handling of the schools budget is nothing short of a scandal - Angela Rayner

Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, commenting on the Public Accounts Committee’s report on the Financial Sustainability of Schools, said:

“The Government’s handling of the schools budget is nothing short of a scandal.

“Ministers clearly don’t have a clue what is going on in our schools, and apparently they haven’t even asked. And while they continue to bury their heads in the sand, our children’s futures are being put at risk. 

“The Tories made a clear promise at the election: to protect the money following every child throughout school. They must urgently act on the Committee’s recommendations, and keep this promise.”
