Debbie Abrahams MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, commenting on the Work and Pensions Select Committee Report on the Disability Employment Gap, said,

“This Report is a clear indictment that the Tories are failing to support disabled people.

“Under this Government, the disability employment gap is widening, sanctions are penalising – not helping – and cuts to Employment and Support Allowance will make matters even worse. 

“The Government must look very closely at this Report and heed Labour’s call to scrap cruel cuts to ESA before disabled people begin to be affected in April.”
