Reform UK releases Net Zero dossier on Claire Coutinho

Following Claire Coutinho's speech railing against net zero, Reform UK have compiled and released a dossier highlighting the Shadow Energy Secretary's pro net zero comments during her time as Energy Secretary.

During her tenure as Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero from August 2023 July 2024, Coutinho was an enthusiastic backer of the net zero agenda, stating that nothing will distract us from achieving net zero and bragging that people look to the UK as a bit of a poster child when it comes to net zero.

Coutinho's Damascene conversion into a net zero-sceptic is an open admission that the policy, which was signed into law by her Conservative government in 2019, has sent bills spiralling for millions of working Brits.

Claire Coutinho was instrumental in growing the Department for Net Zero and famously said nothing will distract us from achieving net zero. Her report today is a stunning admission that her disastrous mistake sent bills spiralling and has made working people poorer. The British people are still awaiting an apology from her. The Tory Party can never be trusted again to fix the energy system they broke.
